How to manage DNS for external services (Google, Mail, Cloudflare)

What this solves

You use external services (e.g. Google Workspace for email, Cloudflare for DNS) and need to add the right DNS records at iHoster24 or your DNS host.

Google Workspace / Gmail

In Google Admin you’ll get MX records and optionally TXT for verification. Add the MX records in your DNS zone (delete or lower priority on old MX if you had another mail provider). Add any TXT records Google gives you.

Cloudflare

If you use Cloudflare for DNS, add records in the Cloudflare dashboard. Point A/CNAME to your hosting IP or hostname. If you use Cloudflare as proxy (orange cloud), SSL and caching are handled by Cloudflare.

Other mail providers

Add the MX, TXT (SPF/DKIM), and any other records the provider specifies. Use only one set of MX records for the domain so mail goes to one place.

Tip: Keep a list of which service uses which record so you don’t overwrite them by mistake.

When to contact support

If records don’t match what the provider shows or mail doesn’t work, open a ticket and we’ll help verify DNS.
